Welcome to Mrs. Forney's page

I have been a teacher at Burke for 13 years. When I came to Burke I taught for two years in second grade and then moved to third grade (my favorite). I am married, have two children, two dogs and a nephew living with me.  My husband is a 6th grade math teacher at Ervin Middle School.  I'm excited about this year.  We will be learning a lot and hopefully enjoying ourselves.

I am sure you have heard the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child."  Working together we can help your child have a great and productive third grade year. Here are a few suggestions of how to connect home and school. First, please check your child's agenda each night and sign it. Second, look through their papers in their take home folder and help them make corrections or complete homework. Finally, have your child read 20 minutes each night and sign the reading log.
